What is Emperia?

Emperia Coffee Co. started with a single question: what makes a space worth staying in?

The name came from "eperia," the Greek word for experiences, though a happy misspelling gave us something better. Emperia felt right. It still does. It carries the weight of something intentional, something worth building toward.

What began as a mobile coffee cart rooted in vintage charm and art deco detail has grown into something broader: a space for exploring the science and soul behind memorable places. The coffee, the design, the atmosphere, the conversation between strangers who become regulars. All of it matters.

Emperia is guided by four values: Connection, Knowledge, Innovation, and Quality. Not as buzzwords, but as a genuine belief that the spaces we inhabit shape the lives we live. A great cup of coffee is never just a cup of coffee. It's the start of something.

Welcome. Every sip tells a story.

Meet me, William.

I've spent most of my career in rooms built around other people. Senior living communities, university programs, specialty coffee bars, luxury retail floors — different industries, same throughline: how do you design a space where people feel like they belong?

That question is what led me to Emperia. Not just as a business idea, but as a belief. That connection doesn't happen by accident — someone has to care enough to design it. I want to be that person.

I'm William. I live in Fort Worth, hopefully soon Seattle, I romanticize ordinary Tuesdays, and I'm building something I believe in. Field Notes is how I get there — one room, one cup, one conversation at a time.
